The Kashanipours: Bear Lake

Last week we went up to Ryan's families cabin at Bear Lake. This was Amira's first trip to the lake. She did so great! She didn't cry too much at night which I was thankful for because I didn't want to keep everyone up with her crying. We even took her down to the beach for the 3 hours we got to spend down there. The weather wasn't great so we didn't get to spend too much time at the beach. This meant that we took lost of great naps.

This year we double the number of kids that joined us for our annual family trip. Below is a video of one of our friends little boys who's name is Lance showing us his talent. We saw this talent numerous times throughout the day. Lance is such a cute kid and everyone has a special name for him on this trip he asked to be called Ping Pong.

Lance's brother Isaac (the one holding the flashlight) and Ryan's cousin Josh put on other shows for us on our rainy day at the lake. Josh did an amazing magic show that he had been practicing for months and Isaac put on a hilarious comedy show.

We also played lost of games. Ryan's aunt Diane is always in charge of the games and prizes. In the past we have had issues with the little kids getting upset over the wrapped prizes that they pick out so we have a motto about prizes which is "You get what you get and you don't throw a fit." It worked out really well this year, no fits were thrown. The games the Diane invented this year was the Airplane game and the blurry picture game. The airplane game put us in teams with two people, one person was making paper airplanes with your name written on it and the other person was throwing the planes. When throwing the planes you were aiming to make the planes fall into various objects such as a garbage can, cooler, and tote. At the end of 15 minutes we found out which target was worth the most points. It was a very successful game. The blurry picture game was made up of about 25 pictures of things Diane had taken pictures of and they were all blurry so you had to guess what the object was. Some of the most interesting objects were Diane's knee, a fly swatter, a vacuum hose, and a fan remote.

Ryan's cousin Nicole and her husband Kyle donated their old school Super Nintendo to the cabin. We all took turns playing the old school games. My favorites are Super Mario Bros. 3 and Donkey Kong Country.

On Friday night Ryan was the chef and grilled us t-bone steaks over the camp fire. He did a great job cooking 15 steaks all at once and didn't even burn any.

It was so great to have so many helping hands while we were up at the Lake, everyone was willing to help feed her when we gave her bottles, hold her when she was crying, and even change dirty diapers.

Capone stayed behind and spent the weekend at Grandma and Grandpas house. My grandma's house has lots of knick knacks especially being displayed at bulldog level so it really is like a bull in a china shop when Capone comes to visit. Luckily he didn't break anything when he knocked a bunch of stuff over. When we picked him up and brought him home he came in the house and within two minutes he was snoring away on the kitchen floor on top of his couch. He was so exhausted from playing with his cousin Zero (my grandparents dog) that he couldn't even keep his tongue all the way in his mouth.
