Family Reunion

Our yearly family reunion is a pretty big deal. We have six families and we all take turns planning the reunion so every six years it's our families turn. This year was our year and we take things very seriously cause we want to put on the best reunion. This isn't your normal family reunion where you meet at the park for lunch and visit for a few hours. Our reunion starts on a Friday night and doesn't end until after breakfast Sunday morning. We have great food, games, an auction, entertainment, and of course a theme.

In the 28 years of my life I've only missed three reunions but that happens to be the past three years so I was very excited to be able to go this year to join in the fun. The theme of this years reunions was Legends and Folklore's. We decided to go with this theme because our location this year was at Bear Lake and of course there's the Bear Lake Monster legend. Each family had to create their own version of the Bear Lake Monster, this is my Grandpa's creation for our family.

We had fun games and crafts (which the big kids seemed to enjoy the most)!

There was also games for the adults which included a raft building contest. We have some very creative people in our family and every team's raft actually floated.

On Saturday night each family did a skit telling a story of a family legend/tall tale. I wasn't able to stay for it since I had tired little ones but everyone said how funny the skits were. We have quite a few characters in our family that you always look forward to seeing what they come up with.

It was a lot of fun to hang out on the beach and get to visit with family members that you don't see to often.

Can't wait for next year. The theme is a Vegas theme (yes we plan this far in advance)! We are a crazy family but it makes for a fun time.
