We did the traditional get together with my side of the family and Ryan's but the main event was a visit from Santa Claus who came to my Dad's house. My stepmom Allison arranged for Santa to make a special visit from the North Pole to deliver advent calendars to all the grandkids in the family.
While the kids were patiently waiting for our special visitor to arrive, I actually got a really good picture of all five of them smiling and kind of looking in the same general direction. That doesn't happen very often. I also was able to get some really great video of their reaction when Santa walked in the door, they were all in shock. It was complete silence and then Ari started crying.
Amira was really excited about Santa, after she settled down and got on his knee she didn't want to get off. She doesn't know too much about Christmas so she didn't ask for anything, she just sat there smiling and giggling. Even while the other kids were sitting on his lap she would try to sneak up there to touch his coat.
Ari on the other hand was terrified of the big bearded guy in red. She sat on his knee for not even one second before bursting out in tears and screaming really loud. We tried to sit her on there one more time but we got the same reaction.
All of the other kids are really into Christmas since they are getting older so they knew exactly what they wanted to ask Santa for. It was really cute to see them sit on his lap.
Seeing Ryan sit on his lap was quite funny, he wasn't too sure if the folding chair Santa was sitting on could handle it.
I love how this picture of my stepbrother Dustin turned out too!
I was really glad that Allison has such a great connection with Santa and I hope that he makes a special visit on Thanksgiving again.
