Swimming Lessons

For the month of June, Amira and Ari were enrolled in a parent & tot swim class at North Shore aquatics center. The first class we had was a bit rough just because it was cold and windy. Not the best environment for an outdoor swim class!
Ari was pretty apprehensive about the water, especially during the first lesson. She had such a grip on me that it was a good think I had a tank top over my swimming suit because she was practically pulling off my top trying to hang on tight.
But over the course of their lessons, the girls really warmed up to being in the water. The both did a great job submerging their mouth, nose, and ears in the water. Ari was really funny at kicking her legs in the water, the first few lessons she would only kick one leg but by the end she got the hang of it and would kick both legs. Neither one of them really like to float on their backs but Amira is starting to get more used to the idea.
The instructors had really cute activities for the kids to do each lesson and some of the grandparents even made it over to watch the girls during their swim lessons.
So now we just have to keep practicing the skills they learned!
