Christmas 2009

Wow, it's hard to catch up on things after the holidays. This Christmas was extra special for us because it was of course Amira's first Christmas. We started out the Christmas celebration by spending Christmas Eve at my Grandma and Grandpa's house. My Grandpa made us his famous pancakes and my Grandma made her famous breakfast quiche (she changes the recipe every year so you never know what's going to be in it). We have a tradition like many families to give out PJ's on Christmas Eve. The thing I need to remember next year is to mark with box has the PJ's in it! I wasn't quite sure so Amira was able to unwrap a couple boxes in order to finally find the PJ's. While we are on vacation Amira became fascinated with the SkyMall magazine that we were looking at while on the plane so we let her look at it and she just started tearing out the pages (sorry American Airlines for all of the wasted magazines). Anyways it was great practice because she actually would rip off the wrapping paper on her presents but then she wanted to eat it.

Christmas day we had a packed schedule. We woke up at about 6am to unwrap presents at our house, Amira loves our DIRECTV remotes so she got a cute little Sesame Street remote from Santa and clothes. Then at 8am we headed a couple blocks over to Ryan's moms for more present opening. At 9am we ran up to Ryan's Grandpas house for more present opening and Ryan's favorite thing which is the shrimp ring that his Grandpa buys every Christmas. At 10:30 we headed up Ogden Canyon to my Dad's house for some awesome breakfast burritos and more present opening. This year at my Dad's we had an adult only Christmas party a week before Christmas that way Christmas day we just concentrated on all of the kids. My Dad and Stepmom give all of us stockings that are about 3 feet tall and always filled with awesome stuff. I took a cute picture of Amira sitting in the stocking. Then at 1pm we ran to North Ogden to my Aunt Bonnies, we didn't stay long but we were able to at least say hi to everyone before we drove to South Ogden to go to Ryan's Aunts house for a great Turkey dinner.

After all of the driving around and visiting we were able to go home and try to start thinking about where we were going to put all of Amira's new stuff. She got SPOILED! On my first Christmas my mom took this picture of me sitting on the couch with all of my presents around me so I wanted to do the same thing with Amira. She got some great things, lots of PJ's which we really needed, teething toys, crawling toys, blankets, cabbage patch doll, outfits, and tons of other toys.
It was such a great Christmas and I can't wait for all of the Christmas' to come.
