Easter Weekend

We had a great Easter Weekend full of parties and celebrations. On Friday, Ryan's sister Maryam graduated from Weber State. We are so proud of her and know all of the hard work she has put in. Going to school full time and working full time isn't easy.
It was a fairly nice day so that was good. It allowed Amira to run around the backyard and find all kinds of treasures. Her favorite was a dandelion and golf ball that she found.
After the graduation we had a party to celebrate. It was great to see all of our family and eat some yummy food. Ryan's cousin Nicole had her friend make a really cute cake for the party.
I love dressing up Ari in cute clothes cause everyone always loves how small the clothes are. On this day, her little shoes were a hit. But then again Ari is always a hit with everyone.
On Saturday morning we dyed eggs for the first time with Amira. I'm not really a huge fan of projects that are messy but this ended up not being so bad.
We bought a kit that had stickers in it cause I thought Amira would like to put them on the eggs but she just got mad when Ryan's mom put the sticker on the egg.
So the only person that got a sticker was Ari, on her forehead.
Amira dropped the eggs into the cups and when I tried to get them out with the little egg scooper she would stick her entire hand into the dye and pull the egg out. Needless to say she had a very colorful hand afterwards.
Saturday afternoon we had a surprise birthday party for my Dad's 50th. He thought that we were doing an
Easter Egg hunt for the kids that afternoon so he was pretty surprised when he came home to find a ton of his family and friends there. My step mom did a great job at keeping it a secret and we were glad that it didn't rain on us.
Maybe by the time the girls are teenagers we will get a picture with the both of them looking at the camera!

Amira had a great time playing with her cousins and eating crackers (see the huge pile of crackers on the table). There is always crackers and a cheese ball and Papa and Nana's house. The kids love it!
On Sunday we woke up and the 'Easter Rabbit' had come to visit us. I think that the Easter Rabbit had started buying stuff a little to early this year because there was a lot of stuff.
Ari got a jungle gym mat to play on, some cute sunglasses that she hated, a swimming suit with matching flip flops and some summer dresses.

Amira got a bubble machine which is a lot of fun, chalk, books including a dolphin book which is her favorite animal right now (or mammal I guess), a shovel and rake to play in the yard with, and some summer dresses.
We didn't have any where to be till 2pm so it was nice to be able to go and play outside before heading out for some Easter get togethers. We played with the bubble machine and made some pictures on the concrete.
We went to our Ryan's aunts house for lunch and they had a egg hunt set up for the kids. Amira wanted to open up every egg and eat the candy as soon as she found the egg, so the egg hunt took a little longer than expected. We made a haul on candy though!
After that we headed to my Aunt Bonnie's house for dinner. Amira loves her house because she has a piano to play on.
We saw a lot of family that hadn't seen Ari yet so it was fun to be able to show her off. On my side of the family we have had lots of little ones born in the last two years so it's great to see all of them getting so big now. I can't wait for all of them to grow up playing with each other at our family get togethers and reunion.

Your girls are so cute in their Easter outfits! Looks like fun to have all those little ones for Amira to play with... and soon Ari too! What a busy weekend... I get grumpy when we have to rush around like that!
